The story

Sherrard Harrington is a Partner and Co-Founder of Kovrent, which buys independent RIAs from the founders who built them and runs them for the long term. Kovrent is long-term capital. It isn't on a fund clock, and it doesn't ask founders to take their name off the door.

He brought that model to Kovrent from EONXI, the long-hold private equity firm he founded in 2019 and still chairs. EONXI acquires, builds, and operates companies from the inside across three lines: early-stage investments from pre-seed to Series A, acquisitions of EBITDA-positive businesses, and in-house technology through EONXI Studio. The portfolio stands at ten companies across technology, services, and traditional sectors, with operations in Miami, New York, and Washington, DC. EONXI invested in Dapper Labs before its $7.5 billion valuation and helped incubate Apple's Claris technology accelerator program and Drive by DraftKings.

Sherrard has been an operator longer than he's been an investor. He founded and exited his first company, Marvel Capital Group, as an undergraduate. At 18 he began investing in multifamily real estate, raised a small fund to buy student housing in Boulder, Fort Collins, and Estes Park, and scaled and sold that company. He went on to assemble a 250-unit multifamily portfolio across the Midwest and has been angel investing and working in private equity for more than thirteen years. He co-founded Fanzee, an enterprise influencer marketing platform, and has advised the boards of multiple early-stage technology and media companies. He underwrites RIAs the way he ran those businesses: cash flow first, people second, story last.

Before any of it, he was a scholarship cornerback at the University of Colorado, recruited out of Washington, DC as ESPN's No. 40 corner nationally. A career-ending injury moved him from the field to the business. He holds a degree in Business from CU Boulder.

His work has been covered by Forbes, PitchBook, Rolling Stone, Billboard, AfroTech, the Washington Post, the Denver Post, and CBS Sports.
